Dr. Mark Petter

I am a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I received my Ph.D. in clinical Psychology from Dalhousie University in 2014. Since graduating I had been employed at Victoria Hospital with the Traumatic Workplace Program until entering private practice.

My practice focuses on providing assessment and treatment to adults with a variety of physical and psychological difficulties. I work from a cognitive-behavioural perspective and I have also received training in mindfulness-based treatments, including completing professional training with Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn. I am particularly interested in helping individuals cope with stress, injury, illness, and pain. A goal of my practice is to provide my clients with the most scientifically supported treatments available.

Heather Hargraves , M.A., C.Psych.

Heather Hargraves has her M.A. in counselling Psychology from Western University and is registered with the College of Psychologists  of Ontario as M.A., C. Psych.. Her Master thesis investigated how neurofeedback can help those struggling with various forms of trauma. Heather also holds a BAH. in Philosophy from the University of Windsor Ontario. Between her degrees Heather worked as a yoga instructor, and meditation teacher. Heather's strength lies in her understanding of the neurological basis of various mental health disorders and her ability to explain and educate how various forms of therapy, including mindfulness therapies, can be used to address specific needs. Heather is particularly interested in how neurofeedback and heart rate variability therapy can help a client move through various issues that have proven to be slow to respond to traditional talk therapies alone.

Dr. Nancy Davis

I am a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I received my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002 and completed my post-doctoral training at the University of Michigan in 2004. I moved to London in 2009 and I'm excited to be a part of Dr. Biederman's practice and to serve the mental health needs of the London Community.

My work with patients is grounded in the feminist principles of collaboration and respect for the individuals' own authority regarding their experience. My work includes acknowledging the interaction between the individual and the systems that the person is a part of, such as family, culture, and work environment, and how that interaction contributes to the person's lived experience. I value focusing on my patients' strengths and capacity for resilience, even though much of the work may involve engaging with areas of distress including depression, anxiety, and grief. I often work with people with chronic pain, sleep difficulties, and exposure to trauma. I have a particular interest in working with people who have or have had cancer, and their caregivers.

Dr. Dyana Castillo, C. Psych.(Supervised Practice)

Dr. Dyana Castillo is working under Dr. Tamara Biederman's supervision at our practice.

I am very interested and motivated in helping people lead the lives they are interested in. I am curious about everything that goes into making individuals who they are, and I use this curiosity to better understand the people with whom I work. My practice focuses on providing evidence-based assessment and intervention for adults. My clinical interventions are heavily influenced by psychodynamic and emotion-focused therapies because issues of emotion regulation and expression are highly common in mental health conditions, and they often develop earlier on in life. Ultimately, I let individuals’ needs guide the nature of the treatment, as well as the pace of our work together. Where relevant, I also incorporate my knowledge of social systems in society (e.g., family) and culture to better understand individuals with whom I work. I am grateful to be let into an individual’s world so that we can find a way to work towards a healthier quality of life.

Dr. Dyana Castillo offers services in English and Spanish.

Bryan Grant, M.Sc. (supervised by Heather Hargraves, M.A., C. Psych.)

*services offered by video or telephone only.

Bryan completed his master’s degree in clinical psychology at Western University in 2016, followed by three years of a Ph.D. degree exploring the ways in which individuals cope when experiencing uncertainty and an overload of choices. This research fostered his interest in helping those struggling with chronic worry and the stress inherent in the constant demands of life.

Bryan has been engaged in private practice for the past five years, where he has focused his work on adults experiencing mental health concerns for the first time, with an emphasis on relationship challenges, neurodivergence and perfectionistic tendencies, including university students, young professionals and new parents. Bryan has also worked with first responders, and individuals who have recently experienced trauma, or injury from a motor vehicle collision. As an ally to those in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and a member of the neurodivergent community, he enjoys working with and welcomes clients with differing backgrounds and orientations.

Bryan believes that meeting clients where they are and deciding together which approaches to use allows clients to take ownership and have the most autonomy in their care, while respecting their unique needs. Bryan principally roots his therapeutic approach in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) frameworks, while offering integrative client-based care that has supported his client population cope with their unique challenges, connect with their values, and develop meaning in their lives.

As he pursues licensure as a psychological associate, he is currently working under the supervision of Heather Hargraves, M.A., C. Psych. providing individual therapy virtually (video and/or telephone). Bryan is currently accepting new clients.
